You verbal cue everything.
There are moments in class where words just aren't enough, and you know it.

Sound familiar?
There are moments in class where words just aren't enough, and you know it.
Fear of doing it wrong, or hurting someone, keeps your hands at your sides.
You haven't fully mapped your own yet. The disconnect is real, and it shows.
What is CET HOA?
"CET Hands on Assist is about learning to read bodies, including your own, and using touch as an honest, safe language."
Over 5 intensive days, you go deeper than cues. You understand the mechanics behind movement patterns, learn a consent first approach to touch, and walk out with a toolkit that changes how you teach, and how you feel in your own body.
Go beyond verbal cues. Know when, where and how to use your hands, safely and powerfully.
Experience what your body is actually doing. Get tools to feel it more clearly, in any class.

Is this for you?
Not the right fit if you have no movement background at all, or you're looking for a formal anatomy certification. This is hands on, experiential learning. Some prior practice in yoga, movement or bodywork is assumed.
The 5 day journey
Each day builds on the last. You learn a principle in the morning and apply it with your hands in the afternoon.
"Touch as communication, not correction."
Consent framework, the 3 intentions of assist (Support, Redirect, Awaken), body reading basics, proprioception self assessment. Afternoon: neutral assists in Tadasana, Warrior I and II.
Consent based assist in 3 standing poses
"Everything above follows what's below."
Hip, knee and ankle mechanics. Common patterns: anterior pelvic tilt, knee valgus. Afternoon: assists in forward folds, lunges, Pigeon and Lizard.
Identify 2 to 3 lower body patterns and targeted assists
"Protect it. Don't perform it."
Spinal anatomy simplified, the core as a canister, breathing mechanics. Afternoon: twist assists, backbend assists from Cobra to Wheel, and red flags.
Safe backbend and twist assists without overcorrecting
"The most powerful assists happen here."
The shoulder complex, wrist conditioning, reading mobility. Afternoon: Crow, Side Crow, and spotting headstand and handstand at the wall.
Safely spot an inversion without substituting for strength
"The best assist is the one the student no longer needs."
Assist decision tree, sequencing ethics, feedback fluency. Afternoon: mini teach back, group feedback and closing practice.

I built this program because I spent years teaching from my head, not my hands. I knew the cues. I knew the alignment principles. The moment a student needed something words couldn't give, I hesitated.
CET Hands on Assist is what I wish I'd had in my first years of teaching. It's built on Movement Recode principles: the body learns through sensation, not instruction.
I'm deep in my own handstand journey right now, and everything I learn about my body's blind spots makes me a better assistant. I share that process publicly, including the plateaus and the falls.

Questions
No certification required. What matters is a consistent movement background, such as yoga, Pilates or bodywork, and a genuine interest in working with bodies. The cohort is small so everyone gets real hands on time.
The morning theory sessions translate well online and are fully livestreamed with recordings. The afternoon hands on labs are where in person matters most, especially Days 2, 4 and 5. If you can only come in person for 3 days, choose those.
No. We teach anatomy through the body, not through diagrams. If you know what a hip flexor does because you've felt it, that's more than enough.
Theory sessions are recorded and shared with all participants through a private library you keep access to. Hands on labs are not recorded, for privacy.
Yes. CET Hands on Assist is part of the Forrest Yoga 300 Hour continuing education program, and earns credit hours toward the certification.

Yes. Online participants join every theory session by livestream. For the hands on labs, they work with a partner at their own location, guided by Ricky. In person is strongly recommended if you're in the region.
